The Paramount Chief (Sarkin Zango) of New York & North America, Alhaji Abubakar Braimah (Bala Soja) expressed his warmest congratulatory message to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, for having been declared by the Supreme Court of Ghana last week as, "validly elected".
He also commended the petitioner and presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo, for swiftly calling the President to congratulate him, organizing a press conference to concede defeat, as well as urging the rank and file of his supporters and NPP members to accept the verdict, in the interest of peace, prosperity, security and stability of our dear nation.
This was contained in a statement by his royal highness, Chief Braimah, which was released to the Press by the Director of Communications(Marafan Sarkin Zango) of his Palace in New York, Mr. Ibrahim Boro.
"This verdict represents a litmus test of Ghana's multi-party democracy- where the rule of law and independent judicial process reign supreme. And we strongly believe that, the amazing peace and security that Ghana is enjoying currently, after this long awaited legal tussle, which was replete with tension and temptation, and nearly brought government activities to a halt, due to uncertainty about which political party the pendulum of the legal victory would swing to, coupled with lack of investor- confidence of the political terrain at the after-math of the verdict, was as a result of constant and consistent prayers of our religious clergies-both Muslims and Christians. They therefore deserve commendations as well." He said.
Chief Braimah noted that, he has a conviction that, with the curtain of the court case being brought to a close, and buried into the historical archives, prospective investors and tourists who were with-holding their planned trips to Ghana, would come in full swing to invest in our economy, and the government machinery would also begin to work effectively, so as to uplift the socio-economic status of ordinary Ghanaians.
He concluded that, Ghana would continue to be a beacon of hope and a shining example to other fledging democratic governments in African and the world at large.
Ibrahim Boro, Director of Communications(Marafan Sarki)
